Creation Station Blog Hop - Botanical Blooms with a Tropical Twist

Welcome to this month's Creation Station Blog Hop and to a whole bunch of inspiration using the Botanical Blooms Suite or Spring Flowers … ooo you're in for a floral treat.

A dear friend is celebrating a milestone Birthday today on a tropical Island. I couldn't let her leave for her holiday without sending her on her way with a suitably designed card that will fit in beautifully with the environment where she will be celebrating.

I sincerely hope for lazy days filled with sunshine and topical gardens filled with beautiful blooms to gaze at for her. That is exactly what I wanted to capture here in this card, so she'll return home to yet more of it.

I hope you can just about see here how I added a Wink of Stella to the edge of the sun. Wouldn't it be nice to see a spot more of that?

Bright and cheerful, with vibrancy that's not normally a spectrum that I'd sway towards, but I have to say …. I loved making this card.

I really wanted the colours to scream tropical and the number to pop.

I gently sponged around the edge of the white card base with Soft Sky Ink, to add a hue of blue sky, without being heavy handed, so that it didn't fight for attention against the flowers.

In my opinion, 50 is a year to celebrate, so no more words were needed.

Well, I'm hoping that you feel like you've been transported to a tropical Island yourself and am hoping my dear friend, Sharon, is having a wonderful time and very much enjoys her Birthday.

If you'd like to see yet more inspiration, then continue the hop onwards to Elizabeth and enjoy.

You're Sublime - Thank you

Since Easter weekend, I've been tending to a poorly little boy, who is currently fast asleep on the sofa. It's school holidays here in the UK right now, but the poorly little chap isn't able to enjoy the holidays very much.

I thought I'd share a quick card with you today, using the stamp set, You're Sublime. A little Thank you card with loads of Thanks.

I couldn't believe that I had an entire paper stack of Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper unopened … so I broke the seal and got playing with some patterns. You may have heard me say before how busy prints aren't something that I usually use and for me this is simple, but still busy … but I really liked it as a background to the over flowing wheelbarrow of flowers.

The Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack is a sure favourite of mine. You can add small quick embellishments using scraps up, in no time at all … so just three coordinating flowers scattered to this, finished it off.

I'm trying my best not to shy away from these beautiful patterned papers that we have.

I hope you like this quick share with you today and I hope you're managing to steer clear of all these nasty bugs, coughs and colds that are going around.

Stay Happy, Stay Healthy and keep crafting

Having some fun with a few Playful Pals

I've been having fun with some Playful Pals and I can tell you …. you can't help but smile when you're creating with this stamp set.

These little 3" square cards are just a perfect little size for the occasional thank you from our son. He is always in need of a sending a Thank you card for one reason or another.

He has stamped some of these cheerful chaps himself, but these were all stamped by me … and enjoyed by me too.

You would not believe the endless possibilities there are with this set and I hope to create some more using it.

I hope you these have made you smile.

Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop - Wedding Dreams

Welcome to this month's Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop and the theme for this month is Wedding Dreams.

This whole Mediterranean Incentive Trip is a step back in time to our very own Honeymoon, which was spent in the beautiful Tuscan Countryside. We have sadly not been able to return to Italy since and this October we celebrate 7 wonderful years of marriage, so we very much look forward to returning there in May as part of the cruise. I think for me, it makes this cruise all the more special.

For those of you who follow my blog on a regular basis, you'll have read how we as a family have an abundance of Milestone Birthday's to celebrate within our close friends and family this year. Well it's not just Birthday's that are standing at milestone years, but also Wedding Anniversaries, with no less than four 25th Wedding Anniversaries to celebrate before the end of July.

With Wedding Dreams being the theme for this month, I felt that a 25th Wedding Anniversary card would be perfectly fitting. Twenty Five years is quite an achievement these days and although it should be shouted from the roof tops, I wanted to create a card that was a little understated and a little different. I therefore decided to stamp up the floral image from Awesomely Artistic and disguise the number 25 within it. Can you see it now? ...

I stamped the image for a second time onto Whisper White cardstock, before die cutting and stacking it up on several, several layers of Pear Pizzazz die cut numbers.

I think this photo here, shows more easily how the numbers are disguised. The flash of green is just picked up from a side on view. A subtle flash of colour that helps to add depth and dimension.

The silver foil boarder of this card and the silver leaf give a gentle reminder of this Silver Wedding Anniversary.

I hope you like what I've shared with you today and can perhaps see how you'd recreate a stacked up image like this for yourself.

Ensure you take a look through some more Mediterranean Achiever's Blogs for lots more inspiration. The full list of those taking part this month, can be found below. Just click on a name to be taken to their blog post.
