A warm welcome to this month's Creation Station Blog Hop.
Here in the UK we are celebrating Mothering Sunday today, so firstly I'd like to wish all you Mum's out there who celebrate it, a wonderful day. For those of you who will also be celebrating your Birthday, then the Creation Station Design Team will be celebrating with you, with an abundance of Birthday projects and here is mine ...
Loving the Balloon Celebration bundle as I do, I couldn't not use at least the Balloon punch somewhere in my project.
I sponged four over lapping colours onto whisper white cardstock, before die cutting the word 'Happy', adhering this over the top of whisper white punched out balloons, to give a faux embossed effect.
I so hope you can see the true beauty of this balloon in these photo's … it really is a beautiful effect (even if I do say so myself). It really helps to add some dimension to the balloon and the glitter offers such a beautiful shimmer. Even my husband reckons that these photo's don't do it justice.
I finished off embellishing with a mixture of Candy Dots, Rhinestones and one of these gorgeous Bow Paper Clips …. I love these and even use them in my planner to help make the pages a little prettier.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed my share with you this month. Hop on over to see what inspiration Denita has in store for you. I feel sure she won't disappoint.
Happy Hopping
How FUN is this????? I love the way you did the ribbon!
ReplyDeleteMikaela: Your card is simply stunning! The sponged colors on the cut-out lettering and the balloon are gorgeous. And adding the dazzling diamonds to the balloon was pure genius!! I think this is the best use of the bow paper clips that I've seen. So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jen … I saw it done by a fellow UK Demo, Lea Denton and loved the effect. It's perfect coupled with the balloons like this x
ReplyDeleteOh WOW …. Thank you. I had created a similar card with darker colours sponged, but wanted something that would work better with the ribbon, so toned it down a little. It's a beautiful soft palette and yes, I guess hubby is right, the photo's don't really do it justice. I do love Dazzling Diamonds … when it doesn't fall off everywhere ;) x
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Mikaela!! I just love your card!!! It is really pretty and very fun! I really love the way you added the glitter ribbon!! What a perfect touch with the glittery balloon!! So much fun!
ReplyDeleteYour card is simply divine, Mikaela! The shredded Pool Party Glitter Ribbon is so gorgeous with the bow paper clip. D x
ReplyDeleteOh bless you Dena, Thank you. A UK Demo called Lea Denton has a video out there showing how to produce the glitter ribbon tassel, it's a fiddly, but great addition to projects x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Denita. Aren't those Bow Clips just gorgeous?! x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I love your balloon, the paper clip and frayed ribbon was genius!
ReplyDeleteI can see some glimmer on your balloon. I'm sure it's awesome. I really liked it and your word happy. And then to put them n a completely white background? Great idea. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Gloria, Yes, I covered the balloon in Crystal Effects and then a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and allowed to dry. These photo's don't show it off to it's best really. Thank you for your lovely comments and for taking the time to leave this lovely message. I'm pleased that you like my share xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card Mikaela! Like the different card shape and the different shading for the happy, but the dazzling diamonds on the balloon is so pretty! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteawww thank you so much Holly. I'm so pleased that you liked it so much. Those Dazzling Diamonds really are even prettier in real life … you really have to try it to see for yourself xx
