Today happens to be my Mother-in-Law's 80th Birthday. It's a wonderful age to be celebrating and we've organised a little surprise for her to meet up for lunch, with her long term friend from school and I can't wait to see the look on her face when they meet again.
I felt that a little keepsake card was needed for this milestone birthday and since she loves the colour yellow, knew that whatever I created, it had to have yellow involved.
However … I wanted the WOW to be on the inside and not immediately obvious.
I decided to do a spot of Watercolour painting for this keepsake card using Rose Wonder as the Stamp Set and the Rose Garden Thinlits to simply embellish the front.
The numbers came from the Number of Year's Stamp Set that is becoming a very heavily used stamp set for me. I have four 50th Birthdays that I can immediately think of falling within the first 6 months of this year and three 25th Wedding Anniversaries … all close friends and family.
Hopefully you can see that I've added a Wink of Stella to both the flower petals and the numbers to add a gentle shimmer … Oh my goodness, how I love that product! I've also added a few dots of Crystal Effects to add a spot of detail around the flower, that's not over powering.
Both Stamp Set and Framelit bundles that I've used come with a saving of 15% if purchased as a bundle and are just shy of earning yourself a Free Sale-a-Bration item … so add that gorgeous Wink of Stella or simply a stick of adhesive and you could choose yourself a gift from the Sale-a-Bration selection.
What wonderful woman wouldn't welcome Roses in their favourite colour for their 80th Birthday?
