Welcome to this month's Creation Station Blog Hop and to a whole bunch of inspiration using the Botanical Blooms Suite or Spring Flowers … ooo you're in for a floral treat.
A dear friend is celebrating a milestone Birthday today on a tropical Island. I couldn't let her leave for her holiday without sending her on her way with a suitably designed card that will fit in beautifully with the environment where she will be celebrating.
I sincerely hope for lazy days filled with sunshine and topical gardens filled with beautiful blooms to gaze at for her. That is exactly what I wanted to capture here in this card, so she'll return home to yet more of it.
I hope you can just about see here how I added a Wink of Stella to the edge of the sun. Wouldn't it be nice to see a spot more of that?
Bright and cheerful, with vibrancy that's not normally a spectrum that I'd sway towards, but I have to say …. I loved making this card.
I really wanted the colours to scream tropical and the number to pop.
In my opinion, 50 is a year to celebrate, so no more words were needed.
Well, I'm hoping that you feel like you've been transported to a tropical Island yourself and am hoping my dear friend, Sharon, is having a wonderful time and very much enjoys her Birthday.
If you'd like to see yet more inspiration, then continue the hop onwards to Elizabeth and enjoy.
Mikaela x

Your card is gorgeous and I'm sure your friend will love it! This really is a coincidence, though, because just the other day I was watching tv when an ad came on and I had to pause the tv and snap a photo for inspiration. It was all white in the top with an ad line and all colorful tropical flowers across the bottom! I wonder if we saw the same ad?! 😀
ReplyDeleteI need a tropical drink to go with your gorgeous card!!!! Absolutely stunning--and oh so fun! Is it summer yet? Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteOh how funny Linda. No … this card simply evolved. At first I had no idea what I wanted to make, but then I felt that if she were to take her card away with her, that I'd want it to be in keeping with where she was … so it had to be tropical colours and sunshine. Bang … the idea just came to me. How funny that something of similar appearance appeared on the TV to give you inspiration too. Was that USA TV or UK out of interest?
