Number of Years with Stampin' Up!

One of my lovely Team Members has recently celebrated her 1st Anniversary with Stampin' Up! and what a great year it's been for her … so the day couldn't go by without a simple Anniversary card.

Loving the Number of Year's Stamp set as I do, I turned to it (again, some might add) for this little creation. This just proves how versatile this set is.

Clean and simple with just a spot of shimmer from the ever so gorgeous Pool Party Glitter Ribbon and it was done.

Aren't these Bow paper Clip Embellishments just so cute?! I've popped a Pearl in the middle to finish it off.

Creation Station Blog Hop - Our Bloomin' Love of Glimmer Paper

I feel honoured to have been invited by an awesome group of International Demonstrators, to be a part of their design team. If you've just hopped over from the talented Holly, then you'll have already seen some amazing creations. With this being my first time hopping with this team, I hope to add to your enjoyment with the creations that I share with you today.

Being February, we can't escape the love that's Bloomin' with Valentines being just a week away … So this month it's all about our Bloomin' Love for Glimmer Paper. 

This Heart shaped Die is quite literally to die for. It's so beautiful with almost the appearance of delicate lace. Thinking shabby chic, I wanted to tone down the glitz of the gorgeous glimmer paper, by teaming it up with Kraft Cardstock and Corrugated cardstock and am really pleased with the outcome.

I've used both Dazzling Diamonds and Blushing Bride Glimmer paper, as I love both of these colours. It's difficult to tell from the first photo that you can actually see through the heart, but hopefully you can see from this photo, that I've omitted any backing and replaced it with Window sheet for protection.

This corrugated envelope was made using the Envelope Punch Board and embellished with a die cut heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit pack. I've made it so that the opening flap simply tucks behind the Glimmer Heart for ease of securing … a very simple and effect closure. 

I felt that the inside needed a beautiful liner, which I created using Very Vanilla Cardstock, some Marvellous Markers and the Bloomin' Love Stamp Set. 

Valentine's Day often brings gifts of sweet treats, so this gift bag made from the Mini Treat Bag Framelits, is the perfect size. I decided to use the Heart Thinlit as a splash of lace detailing behind the sentiment to help pull the set together.

Rose Wonder / Rose Garden Stamp Set and Thinlit Bundle

At the weekend I took part in a gathering of Demonstrators for what we call a Shoebox Swap. 

Each Demonstrator comes up with a card swap, that they supply all the elements for in a box that then gets made up by those in attendance. It's a great way to try out different stamp sets that you perhaps don't own and even try out styles that perhaps you wouldn't normally. 

I turned to the gorgeous Rose Wonder Stamp Set and Rose Garden Thinlits Bundle to create my swap. I can't believe that I nearly didn't buy this set, but I hope you can see here, how I've used it in a way that's more my style.

Many of my ladies groan when I present them with an intricate Thinlits that needs die cutting. It's the need for pin pricking out the fine lines with a pokey tool that gets them in a tizz … well not any more. We are now selling the Big Shot Die Brush that just has it popping out with a breeze. I can honestly say, I thought it was going to be a waste of money, but when you're able to move on with your crafting as quickly as it allows, instead of still standing paper pricking, its worth every penny of the £10 that it's selling for.

I'm hoping that you can see here the texture of the Softly Falling Embossing Folder on the top layer of Whisper White cardstock, that I've added, along with a few Rhinestone touches.

The Melon Mambo pink watercolour wash paper that you can see in the background, comes from a FREE Paper pack, that is currently available with any £45 spend. Its one of the Sale-a-Bration offerings that I thought was perfect for this card. Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper is a Limited Edition offering, so you need to be quick if you'd like to earn this paper pack for free.

Stampin' Creative Blog Hop - Love & Hearts

Welcome to this month's Stampin' Creative Blog Hop and whether you're starting the hop here or have hopped over from Eimear, then welcome. The theme this month is all that encompasses Love and Hearts. 

With Valentines just around the corner, I couldn't help but think of the love in my life … my husband. I'm a very lucky girl, as he is an incredibly supportive man who I feel honoured to call my husband, so with him in mind, I came up with this ensemble.

  

I turned to the Memories in the making Project Life by Stampin' Up! Bundle, that includes the Stamp Set, an array of Cards and embellishments to make these projects. I was also fortunate enough to earn some FREE Memories in the Making Speciality Cards from the Sale-a-Bration offering. This promotion runs until the end of March and rewards you with a FREE Gift for every £45 spend (excluding p&p). 

It was the colours within this set, that lead me to using Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder and Basic Grey. The embellishment pack offers so much variety, from watercolour paper shapes, acetate layers, cards, adhesive shapes and letters and some wonderful wooden accents.

Firstly a simple card that says I Love You without actually having to say it …. A real collage of shapes, textures and colour. It was my intention to avoid Real Red for this theme and to use something quite different …. and quite fresh.

Hubby doesn't have a sweet tooth at all, but he still enjoys the odd special chocolate from time to time, so I'm filling a Baker's Box with a selection of this favourites. 

It was tempting at first to use the large wooden heart on the Bakers Box, but it was what it left behind that lead me to this final piece.

From time to time, hubby has to travel for business and stay away. Having done the traveling that I have in my former career, I know that having photo's of your loved ones back home, by your bedside, is a welcome sight, when you wake on foreign lands, so I created this mini photo book for him.

The wooden embellishment surround forms the front of the book and the protective cardboard from the embellishment pack covered with cardstock, forms the back. In between it's just cardstock, scored and folded concertina style to form the pages.

I so love the acetate overlay that seemed so fitting to frame the photo of us on our wedding day.

With us both loving Black and White photo's, I decided to use these within the album. It allowed the flashes of colour to really pop. 

Here I show how the weight of the wooden front and stiff cardboard backing, allow this book to stand up like a photo frame.
