Stampin' Creative Blog Hop - 2013-2015 Retiring In Colours

Welcome to the Stampin' Creative Blog Hop, where this month we pay tribute to the 2013-2015 Retiring In Colours. You may have joined me from the lovely Emily Thompson's Blog, but if not you can click on the link below to go back and see what she has created.

Each year we welcome in five new In Colours that are current and on trend colours to freshen up the spectrum on offer. To make way for them, it sadly means that we have to bid farewell to five departing colours.

Each set will have been a part of the Stampin' Up! family for 2 years and these beauties are those that depart this year. Coastal Cabana has been a personal favourite of mine, along with Pistachio Pudding … Don't you just love the names?!

This month we set ourselves a colour challenge to use these departing colours for one last time. Other than colour, there was no other restriction to the challenge.

Just Sayin' is a fun stamp set that will also sadly be retiring and with a sentiment of "miss you already… " it seemed most fitting to be used for this project. I coupled it up with the ever so popular Painted Petals, which I absolutely adore. You can now purchase Just Sayin' for £14.21 and the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits for just £10.48, which is a bargain.

I've used my most favourite flower sprig from the Painted Petals set, that I've chosen to ink up in Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. I chose to stamp over the raised sentiment bubble to continue the image with dimension. The base and sentiment are in Baked Brown Sugar.

I've aged up each card base by doing a spot of sponging and used some speckles from the ever so popular Gorgeous Grunge. That's a staple stamp set for your collection.

Coastal Cabana was indeed my most favourite In Colour of this collection and I loved the cheerfulness that it created here. I punched the flowers out of Strawberry Slush using the Itty Bitty Accents Flower Punch … so cute when folded to give dimension.

Who says you can't ink up just two flower stems and use them to draw up a fun noughts and crosses grid? … Crisp Cantaloupe … we love ya.

Today I am jointly running an All Day Craft Event where we're using a couple of these beautiful departing In Colours, so do remember to pop back in a day or two if you'd like to see yet more creations using these colours.

So which Colour will you miss the most? … Not decided? Then lets hop over to Emma Goddard's Blog to see what beautiful project she has come up with to help you decide.

Have a great weekend and don't forget to take advantage of the amazing deals to be had from the Retirement List. Everything on there is while stocks last.

Happy Stampin'

Mikaela x

  13. aww thank you Lesley. I was actually concerned that they were perhaps too simple, but I didn't think they needed any more. Not even extra layering. Thank you for your kind comments x
